Adarsh Reddy (Red) is a South Asian writer/director born in Chicago, raised in Texas and California, and shaped by constant trips to India throughout his childhood. Growing up in between different cultures, he sought out a camcorder early on to document the stories of his upbringing — stories of identity, of culture, of not belonging, and of seeking one’s purpose in the world. As a marketing and film student at USC, he further cultivated his craft before foraying into the tech start up scene — navigating business while creating and evolving his voice in film on the side. After working on a number of indie projects in varying capacities — everything from cinematographer to actor to director — and honing his writing in programs across USC, UCLA, and Rickshaw Film’s 2023 Fellowship, he’s aiming for his short film directorial debut in 2025. Skin Deep is currently on the festival circuit.
